Pattachitra style of painting is one of the oldest and most popular art forms of Odisha. The tradition is more than thousand years old. The name Pattachitra has evolved from the Sanskrit words patta, meaning canvas, and chitra, meaning picture. Pattachitra is thus literally a painting done on canvas, and is manifested by rich colourful application, creative motifs and designs, mostly mythological in depiction.
Raghurajpur is a heritage crafts village in Puri district, known for its master Pattachitra painters.
Dear Team Crafts Collection
I received my pattachitra dupatta today. Thanks to Sonali's patience and efforts. Despite the negligence of the courier partner, she made sure that my piece reaches me on time. I really appreciate her efforts in reaching out. Actually feels like you are dealing with people who create and imagine than a soulless corporation.
I am beyond mesmerized by the neatly done artistic pattachitra motifs on a very soft cotton dupatta. Loved the smoothness of fabric. Despite the art work, it doesn't feel heavy. It's feather lite and super comfortable perfect for Indian summers. The black and golden colours are giving it a very classic look. Loved it absolutely ❤️
